2025 last year, buy or not?

Do you have a link to such article? There was an article written last year about the discontinuing of the LM2 which was the predecessor to the LZO. The LM2 was still being used in the full-size SUVs for Chevy and GMC. They have since switched over to the LZO.

2025 last year, buy or not?

2025 is not the last year for the 3.0. Read an article about the upcoming 2027 modal which will have the 3.0 as one of their engine options. I have a 2024 Elevation and it runs great with no issues. 11,600 miles.

    Cetane rating specific gravity. 44

No, renewable diesel is not the same as biodiesel. Renewable diesel and biodiesel have different chemical compositions. Renewable diesel is a much cleaner fuel to use than biodiesel. Unlike pure diesel, biodiesel is a mix of diesel and biofuel. The most common biodiesel is B20, which contains...

    Cetane rating specific gravity. 44

I try to find renewable diesel when I can. It's cetane numbers are supposed to be in the 75 -90 range. I can find it at the local Circle K and 76 stations. It's the same or lower price than diesel #2

    Cetane rating specific gravity. 44

I don't have a diesel fuel Hydormomiter so I haven't checked mine. I use Opti-Lube XL and XPD to raise cetane and lubricity when on road trips. At home (western Oregon) I always fill up with renewable diesel which is supposed to have higher cetane than diesel #2. I've been using XL for...

    Who changes your oil?

That's the price for the basic oil change. Tire rotation would be extra. Thinking about inquiring at the local Chevy dealer to see what they charge.

    Who changes your oil?

Geez, I need a new dealer. Mine wants to charge $200.

    Who changes your oil?

If I had the space to change my own, I would. I would not trust a quick lube place to change the air in my tires. Just say'n.

    Engine monitor

140%? Never heard of that happening before. Mine always kicks on at 100%. It's a good thing you're tracking it. Good idea for the dealer trip to figure out why it's doing that.

Ideally, you would want to regen while driving. Regening while stationary uses a lot of fuel and would negatively impact your fuel efficiency. Might as well be going somewhere while the regen system goes thru its cycle. If my regen cycle starts when driving and I know it won't be complete when I...

    Engine monitor

Are you talking about the oil and/or coolant temps? Over 210F is normal for those. Transmission temps should be about 195F. For Exhaust Gas Temps, when regenerating, you should see 1000F+, maybe as high as 1200F (538C to 649C).

    LZ0 Diesel Mileage

Now that the weather is warming up a little (still 32F this morning), I'm seeing more consistent 30+ mpg per trip. I did switch tires last October and saw my mpg drop a little. Went from the Bridgestone Alenzas that came with the truck to Cooper Discoverer + Trail AT. They look great on the...

    New to GMC

Sounds like the previous owner kept it well maintained. The only major upcoming maintenance will be the recommended replacement interval for the belt that drives the oil pump in the LM2 at 150,000 miles. The belt is located at the back of the engine which will require the transmission to be...

Major Issues with motor need some advice

As mentioned in another forum, you've lost whatever remaining warranty you had by working on it yourself. I would have found another dealer to handle it. Good luck.

    Who uses a fuel additive?

VIdeo on diesel fuel additives which I found interesting.

    New to me

Welcome! I take the one off posters that seem to come on forums just to write long convoluted sob stories about how bad their new trucks are with a grain of salt. They are just usually just one or even a few posts and they're gone. I'm sure there are a few that have issues, but I don't believe...

    2021 engine light and overheating

If you can smell antifreeze, you have a leak somewhere. It may be small and probably evaporates when it comes into contact with a hot engine part. Have had this happen to me on previous trucks. One was where it leaking from a valve cover bolt hole of all places. Defect in the engine which...
