The fusion app is great. I am liking the no gauge look. I find it easy to monitor. The 2 pics show the truck in regen and when it was finished.

Same here. I haven't found a setting for EGT's yet though and would like to see that.

The obd fusion app has it as an option to pick. Still playing with it .

Looks good. Did you have to customize the PIDs to get that info? I had to add them to torque. Can you resize the display on AA? That's my biggest gripe with mine, it is fixed, and larger than the map. On most AA apps, you can swap the sides and choose which app will display more prominently , but I can't do that on mine. I would prefer to have the odb readouts be the smaller of the splitscreen apps (and on the right side). If you can do those things, I'll definitely buy this one. I love torque, but the fact that it's been abandoned means at some point it'll be impossible to keep it functional.

It’s through Apple car play in the app. Simple for me as I am not the most tech savvy person.

It’s crazy how hot the engine got during regen. You could smell it in the truck and the temps on the screen proved it . 73c up to 106c at one point.165f to 223f

Are you talking about the oil and/or coolant temps? Over 210F is normal for those. Transmission temps should be about 195F. For Exhaust Gas Temps, when regenerating, you should see 1000F+, maybe as high as 1200F (538C to 649C).

Add a metric for exhaust temp and watch how high it goes during a regen. I did a forced, stationary regen once with a scan tool and the exhaust could easily burn you if you were near the outlet.

Ideally, you would want to regen while driving. Regening while stationary uses a lot of fuel and would negatively impact your fuel efficiency. Might as well be going somewhere while the regen system goes thru its cycle. If my regen cycle starts when driving and I know it won't be complete when I reach my destination, I will drive a few extra miles for it to complete before stopping and go thru it's short cool down cycle before shutting it off.

I only did it because when the DPF hits 140% it requires you to do a forced regen. You're supposed to take it in to the dealer at that point, but I had a road trip the following day and access to scan tools to force it anyways. You never want to have to do it. It's one of the reasons I went down the ODB2 monitoring route.

140%? Never heard of that happening before. Mine always kicks on at 100%. It's a good thing you're tracking it. Good idea for the dealer trip to figure out why it's doing that.

It was a more common occurrence before an ECM update when you only did short trips:

That is the reason WHY I monitor my DPF soot level now. I did not before, until I got the code and it went into limp mode. They want a dealership visit to charge you to clean it out if it's not under warranty. P2364 . As mentioned on the other forum, I have a 2007 mercedes DPF equipped diesel and never once dealt with that. It happened with less than 2K miles on my 24 within a few months of purchase.

@DubVBenz I know this forum is a little on the older side, but I recently got a 21 3.0L and it's my first diesel lol I have been trying to keep an eye on the DPF stuff just for the learning curve. Were you ever able to get all your formulas and conversions working correctly?

I just installed the obdlinkMX+ and I’m using the OBDfusion ($20) software because it has an Apple CarPlay app.
The screen shows the first Regen I was able to monitor progress. At 100% the status went to YES, it was done after about 10-15 minutes.

There are 4 EGT pids, only three report temp on mine. One of them is always zero value.

FYI, you can customize 3 screens, each with 10 pids max. I’m playing with a custom pid for oil pressure. I just got a suggestion from a forum member but have not driven the truck for a few days to test it.

I've had the truck about 6 weeks now, read a lot here and while all this electronic wizardry is pretty cool, I'm limited by time and budget. I used my OBDMX2 and paid $5 for Torque Pro, then $20 for a grab handle mount for one of my old phones. I use the info center for other things and don't wish the additional cords and gadgets to connect to it. Thanks to the work provided by all, especially gemarsh and DubVBenz who provided the Torque CVS file that was super helpful for tech challenged me. Now I have all the monitoring I need to monitor ~most~ of the truck. If I get in too deep for whatever reason I'll download Gretio and do a forced regen off that. Thanks!

I tried it on an old phone, the iOS was to old and couldn’t be updated. So im
Using OBD fusion and use its car play option, created 3 screens monitoring 30 pids similar to the one pictured.
